Big News
It doesn’t take more than maybe 5-8 sunny days in a row for me to forget I live around Seattle. A rainy day like this is a comfortable reminder but there’s nothing like raindrops on the window to inspire me to open my computer.
I’ve actually been holding on to some BIG information. We added a postpartum & infant care doula (PPIC) to the team! Her name is Aidan; She grew up in the Seattle/East-side area, she’s a mother, and I’ve always known her to be deeply compassionate and connected to other people. She’s been supporting families and taking care of people for years so when she came to me with questions about becoming a doula, I was thrilled! Someone who is not only willing to, but excited about supporting families and their goals during the most intimate points of their life isn’t easy to find. She immersed herself into training, testing, and certifying and has already started working as a postpartum doula!
Then she posted a picture of a beautiful breakfast that I thought would be so great to share with everyone (with permission, of course). It’s healthy, delicious, and quick- a few of my favorite things since I typically don’t give myself a lot of time for breakfast. For me, food is an unofficial love language so what better way to introduce someone than through a language we all speak?
Ingredients:
1 small cantaloupe
½ cup greek yogurt
2-3 strawberries - washed & sliced
Handful of blueberries - washed
2 tbsp granola
Directions:
1. Cut your cantaloupe in half. Sharing is 100% optional.
2. Use an ice cream scoop or large spoon to remove the seeds.
3. Behold, your cantaloupe is now your breakfast bowl. Fill with your desired yogurt, I personally love this vanilla greek yogurt or Brown Cow if you prefer regular style yogurt.
4. Add the rest of your fruit then your granola and *chefs kiss* you are ready for breakfast!
*Feel free to switch your strawberries and blueberries for whatever you like or what is currently in season!
